DENISON, Tex. -- The Chili's Restaurant on Highway 75 in Denison will close on February 27.

We spoke with employees Monday morning. They say they were told they will receive some kind of compensation and possible transfers to different Chili's locations.

The move comes as part of a restructuring with the company.

This is the second Denison restaurant on Highway 75 to close this year. Garcia’s Mexican Restaurant also closed in January.

Heath, I don't know about you but I don't have anybody working for me that makes minimum wages. Even my part time employees make more than a lot of people! I guess my edumakashun must have done did somethin right! :) P.S. I think I'll go see what Olive Garden is having for their special. I don't think Denison has one of those, do they?

to lisa in madill; yes the bbq place in kingston has the best bbq around and the catfish platter is ok but these places are only open a couple days a week. we need some decient places to go and take our kids and grandkids. if you want a good hamburger then go to crossroads store at the intersection of 377 and 32. they have huge burgers and are the best around. maybe some chain food places will wake up and move into these areas and see that there is a need. that is if the dictaters in madill will allow this to happen.

Chilis patron, no I don't work at kwikset and seeing the education you folks display on here might be why you are so happy with all those part time minimum wage jobs you have up there. Sherman doesn't look so hot outside of Grayson county. lol

Hey Rebecca, at least we have a Chilis! Heath, your office needs to get back to work... slackers. Do you work for Kwikset? No wonder they are laying off. Nobody is working!

Can we please move on from seeing any further dialog about the old high school. The rest of the community has moved on (except for a malicious handful of you). I know I am sick of hearing about it. No one cares anymore, it’s gone, and you LOST. Get a life.

"little okie" i agree that there are not any chain restaurants in Kingston or Madill but there is great food available. The B-B-Q Shack in Kingston has the best barbecue anywhere hands down. Also Catfish Platter in Willis has the best catfish you will find.

maybe chili's would consider opening up in kingston or madill since there is nothing there worth eating. but then some big shot in these towns controls what comes here too. i can see why a large food chain wouldn't come into madill as this is the nastiest place to come to. when you come in to town the first thing you see is nasty flea markets. now who would want to eat in this town. sherman and denison should be glad that they have businesses that want to come into their towns. at least kingston has some new develpers coming to their city and maybe with a little luck more class will follow.
