LOVE COUNTY, Okla. -- A son of a former Love County Sheriff is being accused of taking part in a horse racing gambling ring in July 2007.

The Oklahoma Attorney General’s Office says 35-year-old John Clower Liddell is facing charges of racketeering and commercial gambling conspiracy charges.

Liddell is the son of former Love County Sheriff Wesley Liddell. The Attorney General’s Office say that Liddell was not present during the July 26 raid, but investigators say they have evidence indicating that Liddell had taken part in illegal activities at the Red River Playgrounds Racetrack.

Liddell’s preliminary hearing is set for March 27.

Hey is this the same john liddell that has that internet busines with darl waterhouse you know the one with the fake doctor's note and such? Very intersting since I remember Mr. Waterhouse having been charged with some felonies concernign the illegal horse races. Did he plea out of it or what. Where they partner then? And are they still running that internet company together, sounds kind of funny to me.I thought all of that had already been settled but guess I was wrong. I guess Mr. Waterhouse got out when the getting was good and Mr. Liddell is still in trouble. Hope that their partnership can last through all of this.
