Denison shooting suspect in custody

DENISON, Tex. -- The man police say gunned down a victim in broad daylight Wednesday is in custody.

Denison police say 20-year-old Lekevius Marcell Thomas of Denison walked into the Grayson County Sheriff's Office early Friday morning and was booked into the county jail.

Thomas is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

At last check the victim is listed in critical but stable condition at a Dallas hospital.

The shots rang out around 12:15 p.m. Wednesday inside the home at 27 B McArthur in the Perrin Estates subdivision just east of the airport.

Lt. Mike Eppler of the Denison Police Department says the initial call came in concerning a man at the Longhorn Convenience Store at Highway 691 and FM 1417 that had been shot.

Police are still investigating the motive for the shooting.

Thomas faces up to twenty years in prison and a $10,000 fine if found guilty.

    Christy- my fiance WAS shot for no reason, which is why this was so crazy, plus his roommate did it while my fiance was asleep. So know what your talking about before you put your 2 cents in. Thank you michelle.

    Christy....I don't care what that man supposedly did. NO person deserves to be shot and no person has the right to take another person's life! FYI people......All caps is considering yelling and please try some punctuation. It's a little difficult to read sentences that run together. BTW....race had nothing to do with this. Look around the news site and realize that people of all colors are commiting crimes. It all depends on how you're raised, not the color of your skin!

    I dont think it matters if your 'WHITE' OR 'BLACK' anyone who shoots someone should be put in jail at least a year or two. Thats just the way I see it. I AGREE WITH LOUISE J.
