CARTER COUNTY, Okla. -- The man arrested in December for dumping Brandy Baird's body behind a Healdton oil lease will have to wait until April to find out where his case is headed.
Roy Bassett, 25, appeared in Carter County Court on Tuesday for a preliminary conference to determine which direction attorneys will take the case, but Judge Charles Tate continued the hearing until April 22, which is when Bassett will next appear in court.
The second man arrested in the case, Nathan Langley, was also set to be in court on February 12. His conference hearing was also reset, for March 11.
Langley was arrested in January at his residence in Healdton for drugs and weapon charges. Investigators say Langley had formed a relationship with Baird prior to her death.
