GAINESVILLE, TX - Scary moments in Gainesville for a convenience store clerk after an armed robbery.

The hold-up happened at the Q-stop in the 300 block of West California Street around 7:30 Monday night.

Authorities say an older white man walked in with a knife and demanded money from the clerk. He was last seen in a green jacket.

Witnesses described the suspect as a slender older man between 40 and 45 years old. Nobody was hurt in the ordeal. Gainesville police are still investigating.

No, you would see more clerks shot as soon as the thief walks in to the store and pulls out a gun. If you're going to rob a store, and you KNOW the clerk has a weapon, you're just going to shoot first. Plus, how are you going to train all convenience store clerks (making almost nothing) to handle a gun? Stores have always been robbed. They will always be robbed. Welcome to the world.

All late night covenience store clerks should be armed with guns to take care of people that want to hold them up. When a few of them gets shot, you would then see this type of crime almost eliminated.
