DICKSON, Okla. - Classes were disrupted for part of the day in Dickson after an apparent threat was made against the school. Now a pair of students believed to be responsible are facing punishment.

That threat was apparently written on a note which was found in a bathroom. Carter County Sheriff's Deputies checked the entire campus and found no explosive devices.

"Dickson Police Department called us and asked for assistance. Of course that's why we have our bomb dog that we got last year. And we're very pleased with the way the dog works and the deputy."

Dickson administrators say the two students behind the threat have been given long-term suspensions. No word if any criminal charges are pending.

If you think about it for a second...desperation... lack of self control, all fake. Depression is just a state of mind, if you think you know that they should be locked up, you know nothing and should be ashamed to put such ambitions over such a small term, if nothing happened, than nothing happened. You people no nothing. If you were involved than you would be nervous and lack the self-control to even hold youself in your time of need. That is all.

Did they actually have one or just say that they planted one? This is a felony. A years suspension will only worsen the problem. Give them community service for a year. Expel tehm and make them repeat the grade. Make them actually pay for their crime. Not their hard working parents.

As a parent of a Dickson student, it would be calming to have the Dickson Adminstration address the issues of the bomb threat. Piece of mind is more than hearing of a boyish prank that deserves long-term suspension.

Long-term suspensions? How about a stint in a juvenile detention facility? And please, no moaning about boyish pranks, this is a crazy worls we live in, and even notes like this need to be taken seriously. Sad, but it's a sign of the times. And spare me the "they-were-neglected-by-Mommy-and-didn't-get-a-pony-for-Christmas" drivel. At least, long-term suspension and alternate school for both of them.

As far as I am concerned if they are stupid enough to make a threat like this and put other kids in danger, LOCK THEM UP!! That is probally where they are heading anyway

Now, how many people are going to cry that long-term suspensions are too severe a punishment? (Expel the dratted kids, I say!)
