BONHAM, Tex. -- Residents in Bonham will soon be able to pay their utility bills online. The city council voted this week to sign an agreement with for residents to pay their utility bills online.

City officials say it's the first time they have allowed for payments to be done online, and they hope it helps both residents and city workers cut down on the time it takes to process bills.

"It’s something that many cities are doing, and it’s a service that particularly as we grow the city is going to demand, and we've already seen some demand for the service as it is," Bonham city manager Corby Alexander says.

The plan should be put into effect in the next two months.

I was under the impression the on-line bill pay was already in effect a clerk advised me of that oops. I will be a great service for the people of Bonham, because the sometime the mail don't get to your box or home in a timely manner this could eliminate a lot of errors.

Is it going to cost $4-$5 a pop like many other 3rd-party payment services?
