SHERMAN, Tex. -- A triple-home drug raid Friday morning in Sherman has landed nearly half a dozen people behind bars.
Officers raided three duplex homes in the 9-hundred block of West Laurel in Sherman early Friday morning.
Narcotics officers have been investigating suspected drug traffickers there for several months, but police credit a regular, everyday citizen for helping to resolve this case.
“What the normal citizen sees on the street, they call and report to us. We don't just take that stuff lightly. It’s looked into. Our chief wants to make sure people who are calling in Sherman know this should be a warning or message to them that we're not going to stand by and let this happen, we're going to take action." Sherman Police Sgt. Bruce Dawsey said.
Dawsey says they found crack cocaine and prescription drugs in the residences.
A total of eleven people were taken in Friday morning. Five people are in jail now. Among the charges suspects face is possession of a controlled substance.
