SHERMAN, Tex. -- A group of Austin College students have packed up their suitcases and are headed to New Orleans for Spring Break, but not to party like other college students will be this month. This group is heading southeast to help rebuild homes.

This is the third annual trip for nearly fifty students and teachers since Hurricane Katrina ravaged the New Orleans area in 2005. The group will help clean out some of the homes still in ruins and start rebuilding others they have cleaned the last two times they were in Louisiana.

Students say they are willing to give up their spring break if it means helping others in need.

The group is scheduled to return to Texas next Wednesday night.

The lord knew the only to clean New Orleans up was to flush it into the sea. For god's sake let it go.

Kudos to the students who are willing to be responsible and take pride in helping others! It's nice to see young people who are doing something good just for the sake of doing it!

These students should be commended for their service. It is a disgrace that the Hurricane victims have been in such dire need for so long.
