DURANT, Okla. -- The Durant Police Department is cracking down on businesses selling alcohol to minors.

The police department conducted a compliance check last week, and out of 18 stores in Durant, six were busted selling alcohol to underage minors. That includes Jerry's Corner and Kwik Check, both on First and Mulberry.

In this operation, the minors, aged 18 to 20 years old, were sent in to attempt to buy beer or liquor.

Sergeant Joe Clark says they do these random checks throughout the year.

If a business continues selling to minors, their license can be pulled.

If they busted 6 stores, why did KXII name only two out of the 6 plus give their location? This seems unfair that the other 4 stores weren't mentioned. They deserve the free negative advertising too!
