COLBERT, Okla. - In an update to the mercury poisoning story we first told you about last Thursday, Environmental Protection Agency officials were back on scene Monday.
They let the house ventilate over the weekend, but say the level of mercury contamination is still extremely high.
Eric Delgado is the EPA scientist in charge of the sanitation and clean-up process. He says this week they will be taking out any hazardous material from the house.
Delgado says they also plan on having a mercury collection soon, to help people dispose of the dangerous element properly.
