ARDMORE, Okla. -- A Carter County man is in jail Tuesday night booked on first degree rape charges. Jeremy Clay Cheek, 19, made his initial appearance in court on Tuesday.

Cheek was arrested Sunday after a woman said he raped her late Saturday night. Cheek and the alleged victim were apparently friends, and he was staying at her home for the night with her consent.

If convicted, Cheek could get five years to life in prison.

I don't know what it is about the "Cheek" family and dating underage women anyways!! He was probably drunk since alcholism DEFINATLEY runs in the family. I know, I was almost a "married in" family memeber, but I finally realized enough was enough and got out while I could. I just pray that everyone in this sad situation gets the help they need.

To Amber, please let me clear up my statement, Rape is a violent crime, however, the media makes it always out to be some stranger grabbing the victim in the parking lot and beating her, raping her, etc. What I meant was that most of the times, it's not like that, it's someone that the victims knows and they have asked them to stop and they don't. Most people don't understand that. I hope that clears it up for you.

RAPE IS OFTEN NOT A VIOLENT CRIME!!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME!! Of course its a violent crime! Just because there may not have been a fight put up, depending on the situation, because there are differnt variations of rape. RAPE is always a violent crime! It hurts and tramatizes the person male or female, young or old for life. I hope that the truth does come out because accusing someone of rape is awful!! But if he did do it then he needs to be punished. And dont ever say rape isnt a violent crime... Because unless you have been there in that kind of situation then you have NO CLUE.. NO CLUE..
