SHERMAN, Tex. - Sherman police have arrested a man Saturday on charges of sexual assault of a child.

Authorities say Thomas Peebles was taken into custody after investigators searched his home in the 800 block of Valentine. Sherman police Sergeant Bruce Dawsey says Peebles and his wife ran an in home day care from their home in the 800 block of Valentine.

Police were alerted to the home after a four-year-old girl told her mom something was happening inside the home. After a short investigation involving Child Protective Services and the police department, Peebles was arrested.

If you have any more information about this case, or have ever taken a child to the day care in the 800 block of Valentine, you are asked to contact Jeremy Cox at the Sherman Police Department.

Why the hell was he released. What kind of bondsman from Florida bonds a sicko like that out. I am so outraged. I hope they had to sell everything they own to come up with the money for that bond, and that doesn't even include atty's fees. I really hope the justice system doesn't fail us!

I'm also wondering why there hasn't been anything else said about this by any of our news agencys, And you can't find any information about it on the internet, My son attended there day care for 4 years i have contacted Detective Cox on 3 occasions this week leaving a message each time with no responce back,Is he too busy to call me back, And if he is WHY do we only have 1 detective working the case, Surely this is important enough to have more then 1 officer on it, God i hope they don't screw this up if he is guilty, ALL parent of any kid that attended the day care should be talked to not just a slected few, If he is guilt then he needs to be put away for life,

To MSL, I had a child that attend Granny's for 4 years. I have no plans to join lawsuit at this time but, maybe had that family's complaint been investigated like it should have been and they were not referred to another organization in Collin County, it would have prevented other children from being hurt. Sometimes State and Federal organizations only hear you if it cost them something. And by the way, the children and families that were hurt or affected by this man's actions are going to need years of therapy, which last time I looked was not free. Get over yourself!!!!! They deserve justice anywhere they can get it and if a little financial help relieves some pressure for them, they deserve every penny they can get and then some. Maybe you are the sick one!

I have no intentions of profiting from any law suit. Any monetary gain would be donated to victims of crime. My intent is to ruin this man in every way imaginable. I want this day care held responsible. I would also like to see Child Advocacy and CPS held responsible as they obviously had my daughter's case and at least one more around the same time but did nothing. How many children have been abused since I reported him? Why? Because our system let these children down. They need to be held responsible for their lack of diligence. The wife of this pervert needs to be held responsible. Even if she did not actually see anything I find it extremely hard to believe that she didn't at least suspect something. Lets go for them at all angles and use anything we can get to help these children and their families get counseling to lead as near to a normal life as possible. People do have other motivations than padding their own pockets.

Good daycare that is actually monitored by TV monitors and a staff: $200/Week 6 pack of Shiner Bock: $7.99 More interested in suing someone instead of tending to your child's needs: Priceless

To Outraged Parent,Are you for real, With what these kids may have gone through and your biggest concern is a lawsuit to pad your pocket book, In my opinion you should be sitting in the cell next to Tommy, Your looking to profit off of what happen to these kids, Your SICK just plain SICK.

To "another parent" - You can check reports made against Texas daycare centers at www.dfps.state.tx.us. There have not been any confirmed compaints, but it does show a report made in 2006 and shows the different things looked at in the compaint. Go to website, choose Child Care Licensing in left corner, then Search Texas Child Care. Chose home-based, and enter Grannys as name of facility.
