SHERMAN, Tex. – Sherman police are looking for a man they say robbed a business and then took off on foot.

Authorities say they received the initial call around 7 o’clock Saturday night about a robbery at the Card Party Factory off Taylor Street. Authorities say a black male walked into the store, demanded money and threatened the store employee, saying he had a gun.

After taking the cash, he ran off on foot. Authorities say they are looking in the area around the store, but they need your help in finding the suspect.

Witnesses say the suspect is a black male, six feet tall with a thin build. He has short black hair and was wearing a long dark colored t-shirt and faded blue jeans at the time of the robbery.

If you have information about the crime, you are asked to call the Sherman Police Department.

Janet, what if they had described the black person as a colored person or a negro? What is your politically correct terminology? We don't have the NAAWP either!

Regardless of weather this person was black, white or hispanic- I am so sick of having to watch everything I say as to avoid offending a black person. Get the chip off your shoulder. We don't have White Entertainment Television or The United White College Foundation!!! Why is that??

Micheal you are not in "the real world". I have heard on the news several times "the suspect is described to be a white male" and I'm sure you have too but you are to ignorant to acknowledge it. There are black teachers/white students, black officers/white criminals etc. My best friend is a debt collector is Denison TX and 75% of her customers are white and we dont even notice these things until someone like you points it out. We are all god's people who make mistakes at the end of the day. You should leave Sherman and go to Dallas, Houston, Washington D.C., and you will see African Americans are just like you. (For ex: The Dallas County Police Cheif is Black)We are all the same and I know that someone who is educated like myself will agree with me as a person not because of my color. I know when you guys read this you are going to comment and say things to continue to show your ignorance but go ahead because I wouldnt waste another keystroke of my time to respond to lowlifes!!

I will have to agree Janet that comment was uncalled for. If he was black he was black. The man who tried to rob Texas Star Bank was white. So what. Would it be safe to say his welfare check ran short? Maybe that is not the case, he cant be on welfare because he is white! You people are quick to judge and sterotype people because of thier skin color. I am a black female that works in the legal field in Grayson County and you can best believe Redneck Woman all black women do not sit at home and have babies. I have witnessed so many white women on welfare as I have black so be real. Oh and the comment about our men robbing? What about yours pollutiong the air with all of these Meth Labs? We could go back and forth all day and I promise I could chew you up and spit you out however someone with your mentality is not worth my time. Dont point your finger at another race and make judgements of another unless your hands are clean and obviously they are not. Im not finished......

    ...and you spelled "Michael" wrong

    1) Thank you for pointing out the "black" isn't a synonym for "disabled" and that Asians aren't called "black." Your attention to detail is prodigious. 2) I'm not saying the alleged robber isn't black...he very well may be...but the reason I, like most other reasonable people, question conventional thinking is we're able to see the backdrop of mistrust rooted in decades and centuries of oppressive conditionssuffered by minorities. It's not some theoretical, abstract statement of racial relations, or statement of the evil soul of white americans, either. Minorities are treated differently by society...from media, to police, to schools to employers. This isn't some new idea I created...although, I will take credit for it if you allow me.
