TOM BEAN, Tex. - Some Grayson County residents learned how to lose weight from head to toe. They packed the room for free weight loss seminar at First Baptist Church in Tom Bean.

The crowd of men and women in all shapes and sizes listened to speakers talk about everything from what to eat and when to eat it. They also learned about detoxing their bodies with a special 20-minute foot soak.

"It pulls the toxins out of the blood stream through the feet, and so obviously we have lots of toxins through the foods we eat, the air we breathe, all of those things. We want those toxins out so you feel better," said Michelle Castillo, a consultant at the event.

Castillo says she hopes to educate people on the benefits of detoxification.

I had this foot bath done and it was great! I cant believe there are so many negative people out there that dont have a clue of the benefits it brings. I guess some of these people rather hear about all the bad things in the world rather than something that can be beneficial for them.

A little research into how the body detoxifies (the liver) will tell you that the whole idea of removing "toxins", "parasites", and even "cellulite" from the bottom of the feet is completely false.

Yeah, well Mesmer made people fall into a trance using metal bars, but we now laugh at how gullible people are. It cured all their problems as well. Can we placebo effect.

I also want to know why KXII keeps running these quack product stories? This is not news this is somebody taking good money out the pockets of people who don't know any better. I expect more from a "news" channel. If you believe in this I have a bridge between TX and OK that you might be interested in buying.

As someone who has personally had the foot detoxing done. I have nothing but positive things to say about it. I suffer from severe sleep insomnia and have for several years. After being detoxed I slept like a baby without the use of any sleep medication for the first time in year. My mother in law also had it done and she has severe joint pain. After being detoxed she was pain free. So before you post negative comments and possibly shy someone away from something that could be very beneficial to them give it a shot, you might be highly surprised.

Don't knock anything until you try it. Open minds are always willing to live and learn, close minds never do anything.

Stop providing free commercials for these people. You are a respectable news outlet! Stop it. We, the people of Texpmaland are tired of it.

Just the fact that KXII would actually cover such a "snake oil" demonstration does not further the credibility of the station. Whoever dispatched that reporter must be wearing a tin-foil helmet.
