SHERMAN, Tex. -- A Sherman parent was arrested Monday at Jefferson Elementary School.

Sherman police say Mark Bowen, 35, was arrested on a warrant for assault causing bodily injury.

Officers say Bowen arrived at the school around three o'clock to pick up his child, who officers say was not even at school.

Bowen was taken into custody just as school was letting out, and then escorted out by Sherman police after students left the building.

Police say the school was not locked down and that no one was in danger.

I think the news story wasn't because he was arrested. It was because it was at a school, if it was at the Dollar Store it probably wouldn't have made the news. As far as using the guy's name, it's public information. Check out the website www.co.grayson.tx.us and search the judicial records department. There you can find the name of everyone who has ever been arrested in Grayson County.

I will have to agree with here, jc and cg, why don't you two just settled it once and for all meet somewhere and then someone can call KXII news and then you can be on TV, GROW UP!!

jc- rising above the name-calling sent your way by cg is also part of adult discourse. Some folks aren't worth responding to. Remember, we're talking about some guy who got arrested at his kid's school on an outstanding warrant. If he deserved to get picked up, so be it- the cops went to the most likely place he would go to at the time. I don't see any "Big Brother" conspiracy going on here, but then again I don't buy the whole "coming American dictatorship" line.

I have no problem being disagreed with, that is part of adult discourse, being called an idiot and being told to leave the country I was born in is not.

JC- if you're going to say the stuff you do, you'd better expect someone to disagree. If you don't like it, don't post. Simple as that. Veiled threats don't win any arguments, either.

Since KXII made a news story out of this, then KXII should make a news story about every person that gets arrested every day. Include what they are accused of and include their names. Why are you picking on Mark? Fair is fair.

Come make me CG-Ill give you an address. Don't ever call me names without having some real first hand knowledge of who I am

I think having children see the arrest of someone does a world of good. My kids have seen people get arrested. Someone being arrested does not mean that they are guilty of anything. This brought up a great way to teach children. As for the dictatorship comments.. thats always funny!
