ARDMORE, Okla. -- More details emerged Tuesday in the case against Deondrae Maytubby.

Maytubby officially pleaded guilty to first degree manslaughter charges Tuesday morning in exchange for a recommended sentence of ten years in prison. His attorneys are asking for four years.

Maytubby and another man, Jason Scallion, have admitted to the 2007 beating death of an Ardmore man, Steven Goddard.

Maytubby and Scallion will be sentenced in April.

Our wonderful D.A. at work. He's either too much of a politician, or he's afraid to prosecute anyone. Someone needs to replace him, someone who has some "guts"

I agree with outraged. The system says Hey go ahead and kill someone, we will give you a 3 hots and a cot and you only have to serve a fraction of your sentence.

ALL FOUR OF THESE PUNKS SHOULD BE LOCKED UP FOR THE REST OF THEIR NATURAL LIVES! A SUPER STRONG MESSAGE NEEDS TO BE SENT FROM THE JUDICIAL SYSTEM THAT SAYS IF YOU COMMITT A BRUTAL AND VICIOUS CRIME LIKE THE ONE THAT WAS COMMITTED AGAINST MR GODDARD YOU WILL PAY FOR IT AND YOU WILL PAY DEARLY!

I cant believe 10 years with a possible parole in 4 is all a human life is worth these days. I guess its better than the 1 year the monster got that ran over the woman and baby last summer.
