SHERMAN, Tex. -- Two men accused of rape are standing trial in Sherman on Monday.

Jurors were selected Monday in the case of Jason Edward Whitten, 19, and Douglas John Wise, 18. Both charged with kidnapping, sexual assault, and burglary.

Police say in May, they and another man, Bryan Haskell Shipman, 18, broke into a woman's home and sexually assaulted her several times.

Shipman has already pleaded guilty to the charges.

Jurors will begin hearing evidence in the case of Whitten and Wise Tuesday morning.

To the victim of this unthinkable crime. Thank you for being so brave. This must be a terrible time for you to re-live the event and suffer public humiliation. We understand your situation and thank you for doing what is necessary to put these guys where they belong. Stay strong and God will bring you through this tough time.

I read the tesimony in Thursdays paper and it is awful. These three guys are sick mother f******!!!! It is sad to hear what these guys did to this girl. I know justice will be served but it will be even better when these sick individuals get dealt with in the big prison. I hope they get raped just like they did this girl and maybe then they might realize how this girl felt while they were doing these things to her.

Did you read the testimony in todays Herald Democrat? While the case hasn't gone to the jury, you can be sure there will be convictions. I feel sorry for the families, but not to the degree I feel for the victim. Judge Blake will have the opportunity to pass down harsh sentences. For those who favor capital punishment, chain gangs etc, such sentences may indeed be desirable, but there is no way our lawmakers will ever make it happen. Think about it, EVERY elected offical in Grayson Co, and most elected officials throughout the state prodly proclaim that they are the "Conservative" candidate at election time. However, taxes continue to rise, crime continues rise, and our way of life continues to be threatend. Voters must hold these politicians accountable, and refuse to vote for those who simply choose to assign themselves a popular slogan, but fail to deliver.

Read the Sherman Herald Democrat. According to the article, Shipman pled guilty of all charges and Whitten's own attorney said he participated in the sexual assault. It's just a matter of how much time he gets now. The more the better.

Gracie... you're in luck! That wonderful society you're describing exists in many places already! I'm sure you'll be very pleased with your new home in some middle-east theocracy.
