DENISON, Tex. – One woman is in the hospital after a wreck Wednesday morning in Denison.

Authorities say a woman headed west on Texas Street when she lost control, hit a tree, and rolled over multiple times into a ditch.

The woman was pinned inside the car for some time. Rescue crews were able to get the woman out with minor injuries.

This accident is the latest in a string of accidents this week, and authorities say people should always be careful and drive defensively.

No word on how the woman lost control of the car.

I live in the country and drive down Texas street at least twice a day to get to my residence. I admit I probably do about 40 mph on the road (not in the school zone). I feel 30 mph is way to slow. Out of the 10 to 15 times a week I drive on Texas street I would say I only see 1 or 2 cars pulling from their driveways. Sure Texas street has some hills but it is by no means curvey or a hazard. If this lady was paying attention she would not have had a wreck. I think it just boils down to she is just a bad driver. As for the alleged police office speeding - I could care less. Everyone speeds at one time or another, I don't care who you are. He just has a job that lets him get away with it more than others. I have heard of police officers doing much worse and getting away with it. There are more important things than putting them down for something we all do (speeding). I would like to see the complainers put their life on the line every day (especially in today society).

What really matters here?????? We all need to just slow down, pay attention to what we are doing and be thinking of others while we are behind the wheel of a vehicle! Its not just teenagers, or the elderly or the peole in their 30's and 40's, its all of us! We all need to just take our time and PAY ATTENTION!! Life is too short to die or to kill someone because you had to send that text message or answer that phone call or change cd or radio station or even to get the last bite of that burger or because you are just in a hurry, maybe late for work, NONE of these things are worth losing a life over! Everyone in this world is loved and would be missed by someone and would be leaving someone behind, come one people, lets take care of one another and all do our part and be safe.

To: who lives on texas st i also live on texas st and also observe many people speeding. there is no telling how many times i have almost been hit leaving my driveway. so for you to point your finger at a "denison police officer" how do you know for sure he is a denison police officer because i appreciate what they do for us. i sit outside my house every morning and never, never see a denison police officer riding a harley in uniform. so my question to you is how do you know he is a denison police officer and not some other person that rides a harley, because i have neighbors that live down the street from me that ride harley's.

first of all i don't know that the lady was speeding but 9 out of ever 10 cars traveling on this street drive entirely too fast i have lived on this street for over 17 years the speed limit is 30 not 60. people pass each other on this narrow street way to often most of the time it is adults old enough to know better, they pass school buses picking up and letting children off. people need to understand most of these people have to back out of their driveways and for all of you people who drive fast it puts people lives in danger. there is also a denison police officer who gets off at 700 am and likes to drive his harley through the school zone at a speed faster than the 20 mile an hour school zone but he won't get a ticket from his coworkers but you can bet one of us would. drive safely on texas street it could be my kid you kill.
