GRAYSON COUNTY, TX - A fallen Sherman soldier will be remembered with a day named in his honor. Braden Long is a graduate of Sherman High School. He lost his life fighting in Iraq last year.

Saturday, he is being remembered by the veterans who served before him. And thanks to the mayors of Denison And Sherman, Saturday will be declared "Braden Long Day."

Chaplain Wayne Caro says it's a way for the community to say thank you. “We honor our vets when they come back with a full military funeral. But what we do with the memorial service is honor the sacrifices the family has gone through."

The ceremony starts at 2:00 pm Saturday at American Legion Post 62 in Denison.
