MARIETTA, Okla. (AP) - A Texas convict and a former Love County jailer who helped him escape are both heading to prison.
A Love County judge this week sentenced 33-year-old Bradley Taylor and 36-year-old Tina Marie Smith after each pleaded guilty to state felony charges.
A Sunset, Texas, resident, Taylor was serving as a jail trusty on March 10 when he left the jail to take trash to a trash bin. Authorities say Smith, a part-time jail employee, picked him up, and the two fled to Texas. The pair was arrested two days later in Bowie, Texas.
Taylor was sentenced to three years in prison for escape, while Smith was sentenced to two years in prison followed by three years of probation.
