FANNIN COUNTY, TX -- A weekend stabbing in Fannin County leaves one man dead and another behind bars. Stephanie Brletic reports.
Fannin County Sheriff Kenneth Moore says the stabbing happened sometime after dark on Sunday and it didn't take them long find their suspect and get him in custody.
Moore says 19-year-old Bo Bailey Harris of Gober was arrested Monday night after he admitted to stabbing 22-year-old William Ian Adams of Greenville.
Moore says his office was contacted Monday night by the Greenville Police Department after two people reported a possible homicide in Fannin County, even giving the name and address of a suspect. That was when Moore says deputies headed to the home and found Harris. He says the two men were acquaintances.
"They knew one another, now how well they knew one another is yet to be determined. We don't know how long they've known each other, if they're close personal friends or if it's a relationship that just struck up over the last few days or months," Sheriff Moore says.
Moore says during questioning, Harris told deputies where to find the body on County Road 3735. They also found bloody butcher knife at the scene.
Moore expects Harris to be charged with first degree murder on Wednesday.
This is the first murder this year for Fannin County.
