DENISON, Tex. - Keeping kids safe online is one of the many issues parents face in today's hi-tech world. Offcials at Denison ISD held an internet safety meeting on Tuesday.
Parents and kids were given different presentations on the dangers of surfing the net. They were also given tips on how to be safe when chatting or searching or the web.
AT&T Representative Vicki Allen was the guest speaker. Her advice to parents was to pay attention to the sites your kids visit and make sure they know you are watching.
Rebecca Downing is a Denison ISD Counselor who was in charge of Tuesday's event. She says, "The internet opens a world of info, and it’s exciting and fun and informative, but it also opens up a whole area of responsibility."
Parents and organizers say this was informative session that really opened their eyes to internet dangers.
