News flash people! The mother of that little boy was sitting right next to him, and was also hit! She was injured, but has since recovered. Read the papers; watch the news. Know what you're talking about before you open your mouth. As for the lady in the car, yes, it was stupid, but it was still an accident, one for which she will pay for the rest of her life for. As for the mother's other children, she no longer has them; CPS does, and had them before the accident!

Looks like she's drunk in both pictures. Its like she new the kids and the family. Common sense, you see kids near the street you take more percautions. Slow down and look around you. As for the sentence, 1 yr in jail, I agree with the other guy. Vote the judge out. As for the mother, I have seen mothers put their kids in situations of being hurt, because she can't deal with supporting them. This mother needs to be charged as well. She did not protect her kids and one life was taken. She needs to pay too. Look around, kids are being killed by the parents in some form. Remember the baby in the microwave! Times will get worse, and just hold on for the bomb shell of our new president. We are all screwed!

I agree, babies should not be allowed to play in the street in the first place, the parents need to step up and take some responsibility in this matter

Accidents happen every day where people are severely hurt or killed. Some by something as simple as reaching down to get your purse in the floor board, talking on your cell phone or changing a CD or pulling out in front of an oncoming car. Should we hang these people? Do you really want to start crucifying people for accidents?? Are you ready to be judged for every stupid thing you have ever done? You may get that chance someday!! Keep that "holier than thou" attitude and see what happens. I am a firm believer in Karma. How many times in your life have you said "That will never happen to me" and then it DID!? I have and I have paid..emotionally, physically and financially! I am sure we all have. Not saying that the driver doesn't need to pay for the loss of that baby! She will. No one here will ever let her forget what she did. But if we want to be judge and jury then let's punish everyone at fault. Negligence is a crime!! If that child was not in the street then....No accident? HMMM

Jamie! Here again. I'm not with my kids every second of the day but i will tell you that when i am with them they are not playing in the STREET! Hello, it's called being a parent and knowing where your children are. When they are at home i know where they are and they aren't playing in the street, you should always know where you 14mo old is. It's not like he's a teenager or anything. He was still a baby!!

BETTYE J!! FYI i'm not placing blame on the mother, but i would like to know where the mother was? How is it her 14 MO. old child can play in the street? I have 4 children and I would NEVER let them play close to the street. I don't let my 10yr old play close to the street let alone let a 14mo old. I mean come on.
