FANNIN COUNTY, TX - Fannin County leaders took a five hour trip to Polk County Thursday to get ideas for a possible new jail.

They left around 5:00am Thursday and returned at 7:00pm.

Polk County's jail is about two years old and privately run and Fannin County leaders wanted to get a feel for how that jail operates.

Judge Butch Henderson says the jail is well maintained and very impressive; something the judge would like to see happen in Fannin County.

Henderson says they will meet next Monday to address issues concerning a private jail in Fannin County.
