ATOKA COUNTY, OK -- A 16-year-old died in a four wheeler accident Thursday evening in the Atoka County town of Crystal.

Autumn Weist, 16, of Boswell, was riding her ATV at unsafe speeds down a country road around 7:30 p.m. in the community of Crystal east of Lane, Oklahoma, when she met a pickup truck driven by 56-year-old David Doshier at a curve. When the two collided, Weist was ejected from the ATV and died at the scene.

its been almost a year since she died and everyone still misses her she always knew how to make people laugh and she always put you in a good mood she was always there when you needed her and she was driving a little to fast i talked to her 10 minutes before she died it broke my heart cause i had someone call me and tell me that my aunt was dead it was terrible. i miss her every day theres not a day that she isn't on my mind. She is dearly missed by a lot of people and she will never be forgotten. I MISS YOU AUTUMN!! God needed you more that i did! Atleast your in peace and not pain. When i found out that she died i was goin home from school on the bus and my cousin told me. As soon as she told me i started bauling i mean she was gone and i couldn't believe it. i went home and didn't want to ever go back to school because i knew autumn wouldn't be there. I cried for days and days i went to family night and her funeral i was so heartbroken and i still wihs i could have her back!!!

When are people going to learn that "Off Road Vehicles" really do mean "Off Road"? Seems like once a month there is someone getting killed or badly injured on an ATV in Southern OK. Wear protective gear and stay off the streets. That's not asking too much... or is it? My prayers go out to all that are involved.

My thoughts are with your family. We lost my 13yr old brother in July 2000. It saddens me to see someone go through what we have been through. God bless

I just want to say that my heart goes out to the family who lost their daughter and the driver of the pickup. I really don't know what to say, except I know what it is like to have young children who think that they are invisible.. My oldest son was always driving our ATV at a unsafe speed, so we sold it before something terrible happen... I hope that the parents of this young girl can use this as a learning tool to help prevent this tragedy from ever happening again. Your in our prayers..

I am the father of the child that was killed. I thank all of you for your comments, whether good or bad. She was very happy about going to the sand drags and spending the night with her friends. she was on her way back from a friends house on a dirt road and was driving a bit fast, and hit a pickup in a blind curve. Noone can be at blame for this freak accident. All i can say is that my daughter is at peace and is not in pain. She didn't suffer at all she broke her neck. Thank all of you again
