ARDMORE, Okla. -- Honoring those men and women who put their lives on the line for all of us every day is the true meaning of Memorial Day. Law enforcement in Ardmore honored their own Friday morning.

It’s an annual tradition to remember those eleven officers who died in the line of duty in Carter County.

Corporal John Randolph says the tradition is also upheld to remind the families that their lost loved ones are appreciated.

"It’s to let their families know that we haven't forgotten their greatest sacrifice, which was giving up their lives for their towns," Randolph said.

More than 100 people attended Friday’s ceremony.
