MARIETTA, Okla. – Police in Marietta are still looking for a man they say is responsible for shooting a juvenile Saturday afternoon.

Authorities say it happened around 2 o’clock Saturday afternoon in the 1200 block of Meadow Park. The exact details surrounding the shooting are not known at this time, but authorities are looking for 32-year old Derek Mertz, who they believe was involved in the incident.

Now a new investigation has been opened after two handguns disappeared from a home in Love County.

Police say Mertz knew the homeowner and may have played a role in that theft.

Mertz was last seen leaving the area in an older model black Ford pickup.

The juvenile was taken to a local hospital for non-life threatening injuries. He was treated and released.

Authorities say Mertz is considered armed and dangerous, because the weapon used in the shooting was not found at the scene.

If you have any information on Mertz's whereabouts, call the Marietta Police Department.

Armed and Dangerous...or armed and STUPID.I bet that would not have happened if it had been an adult that he was with because he is only a tough guy to little kids. He will probably be at the Sand Bass Festival with his Illigal Alien Girl Friend on Mexican Night. I hope he gets what he has coming to him when he spends time in the Pen. If that had been my kid he shot I would make sure he did not do that to another child again.

To Anonymous from Marietta: Actually, it's nobody's business which hospital the shooting victim was taken to for treatment. That's patient confidentiality, and is protected under federal HIPAA regulations. Works for everybody. The kid was lucky not to have beek killed, accidentally or otherwise.

lets see.....mullet...check, gun...check,pick up...check, now for leads, like previous said check the gas stations, he will need smokes, or gas, or obviously beer and lotto tickets, and if that dont work, check the trailer parks, according to the tv show cops, he should be the one without the shirt, yelling about how his sis wont sleep with him anymore.
