PARIS, Tex. -- A Paris police officer has been arrested on drug possession charges. James Guest is being charged with possession of less than two ounces of marijuana, a Class-B Misdemeanor.

Authorities received a call Wednesday around 12:15 a.m. about a domestic disturbance. Before police arrived at the scene, they were told Guest has taken some drug paraphernalia from previous police calls. When they searched the home, they found the merchandise.

Guest has since resigned his position with the Paris Police Department. He has been employed with the department since July of 2006.

Dirty cops are dirty cops, regardless of where they're from. Whether it's that guy in Durant or the now-ex-police man in Paris, they're dirty. They no longer deserve to have a job in law enforcement. I knew that the Paris City was a group of clowns- never knew the lunacy spread to the PD. If the Council would stop the infighting and work more on improving the lot of the lives of the fire and police departments, there would be no stories of dirty cops in Paris. And before I hear whining from folks in Lamar County, I lived in Paris for years, and worked there & have friends there, so I full well know what I'm talking about. The good people of Paris deserve better-paid officers and folks that won't be tempted to do ths stuff this gut has been accused of.

There are more than this one out there. don't you know probably when they do a traffic stop and find this stuff they probably don't turn half of it in they just find some where to stash it and then they go back and get it! All a police officer is is a crook with a badge!!

Waiting on the people that say "don't be so quick to judge, or i know this man and he is a wonderful person, or he's a good man he just made a mistake and so on and so on". I'm glad he got caught we don't need this type of people as police officers.
