SHERMAN, Texas -- Police and Justice of the Peace release the identies of those on board a bus that lost control and rolled over early Friday morning. The death toll is 17 people, according to officials. At least 29 others were injured.

Harris Methodist Hospital officials have confirmed 89-year-old Cham T. Nguyen has died as a result of injuries sustained in the accident.

A spokeswoman for Methodist Dallas Medical Center said Saturday that one of the wreck victims brought to the hospital died during the night. The other two victims at that hospital remain in critical condition.

There are two phone numbers set up for victims and their families. The Red Cross has a number, 1-866-GET-INFO, to locate victims with their families. Sherman police have also set up a line, 903-217-765, for victims to retrieve their belongings. At the scene there were large amounts of luggage and purses scattered admist the bodies.

55 people were on board the bus that blew a tire, collided with a guardrail, and slid off the highway Friday morning.

The Dallas Morning News reports the driver, 52-year-old Barrett Wayne Broussard, has a criminal history. The paper cites Harris County court records show Mr. Broussard was convicted in 2001 of driving while intoxicated. He also has convictions for misdemeanor assault, criminal trespass and unlawful use of human services funds, a felony.

Police and Grayson County Peace Precinct 1 Greg Middents and Justice of the Peace Precinct 2 James Harris are releasing the names and ages of the crash victims.

Many of them have been released from the hospital, others are in critical condition. We are efforting the condition of each patient. The patient has been discharged unless otherwise noted.

MJP I worked in a local ER and if you are a frequent drug seeker you will not be seen. A Emergency Room is for Emergency's only not because its monday morning and you dont want to go to work and you need a doctors not. or it is a 3 am and you have had a cough for 4 days. That is what your doctor is for...

To the WNJ er worker bashing the bashers, perhaps he/she just knows some of the er staff personally. On the other hand, thanks for advertising to the rest of Texoma where we can get some drugs on Saturday night free of charge, no insurance required.

to Denisonion- I've been to South Texas several times... it's not all that great. No better than Texomaland.

To the ones that are bashing WNJ er room. You must be the "regulars" with no insurance that come in on Saturday night just to get drugs.

St. Mary's in Sherman is also available for assistance. Not sure why it isn't posted...The Catholic faith is very strong! Thanks be to God for the victims faith.

A lot of thanks goes out to Police, Ems, and Fire but don't forget about the dispatchers. Without them answering calls and getting the helicopters and other needed assistance this could have been a much worse situation. Thank you to Van Alstyne, Sherman, Grayson county, Denison, and all the other dispatchers dispatchers for all they did to assist in this tragic accident. Prayer eith go out for all of you. I know its hard to hear about this tradgedy let alone respond to it. God Bless all of you guys! I would like to see anyone else do what you do!

To the former Denisonian- who give a rat's fuzzy about your opinion? Guess what? I have a college degree (2 of them, in fact) and make a very nice wage living and working in Texomaland. It ain't perfect in this area, but no place on this earth is. I've lived in this area on & off for 22 years, and as a dangYankee transplant I've come to like the area quite nicely. So can the comments, or put them in another column- this isn't the place for your whining. Again, kudos to the folks who responded & helped those victims, and shame on those who sat idly by and ran their toothless mouths.

My heart goes out to victims and families involved in this crash. My gratitude goes out to the police, fire, medical personnel and volunteers who so professionally and bravely helped those involved. I'm proud to say I'm from the Texoma area. Our police departments and fire departments conducted themselves in a knowledgeable manner, our city should be very proud of them. To watch as they worked like a well-oiled machine is a tribute to the Chiefs who make sure they receive the training and credit they deserve. The surrounding cities who came to help should be equally proud because it took them all in order to get through this ordeal. Our medical personnel were a God-send. The volunteers who came to the scene are to all be commended. All of these reasons are what make the Sherman/Denison area so desirable to live and raise our families in. Our prayers need to be with the families of those who lost lives, with the injured, and with those making their ignorant comments on this website.

May God be with the familes that lost their loved ones in this accident. Also may God be with all of the people injured in this terriable wreck. Thank You all so much for being their to help save the lives that you were able to save. I know that it is hard when you have to see something like this but just know that they are with God.

Funny - by your last post it sounds like you really keep up with the Sherman/Denison area. That's kind of odd for someone who dislikes the area so much as to move away, isn't it?

We need to take a serious look at the budget issue that will be taking one ambulance out of service for the Sherman area. Lets talk numbers, there were roughly 7,000 calls in 2007 6,000 of those calls were EMS related. Our firemen/EMS heros are making 30% less than those in the metroplex, now expected to cover more area in less time. When residents call 911 time is usually very valuable. Now instead of getting the help we need in 3-4 minutes our wait time will be doubled. And lets not forget the service area for the ambulance to be taken out of service serves 1 elementary school, 1 highschool, 1 water park (designed for small children) and 1 skate park. Is this what we want for our community?? Lets all just thank God we did still have the ambulance for Friday mornings disaster. I am glad it was used to save a few more lives while it still had the opportunity. My prayers are with all the families of those who lost their lives, the survivors, the Firemen/EMS, and the police.

TO: TEXOMAN AND PROUD I'm glad to see the likes of ignorant people like you still linger in the area. The reason I plan on not returning is because people are so stuck in their ways and it's the land of NO oppurtunity. Sherman and Denison are both places that people should go to when they are retirement age. Other than that, there is nothing there and it's sad becuase people like you are the reason that it is that way. So go ahead and campaign for Sherman to keep that ambulance running and be mad that Denison is building a new library. Hopefully one day they'll be jobs in the area that aren't borderline manual labor. As for me... I'll be moving somewhere where there are jobs to be obtained with a college degree.

Those are you making negative remarks are fools and should take your ignorance elsewhere. This is not the time to be showing your uneducated opinions. Mine and my families thoughts and prayers are with everyone who was affected by this. The injured, the ones that dieds families, and of course all of the rescue workers who had to witness such a horrific scened. Regardless of whether or not they could speak English, or whether or not we are missing an ambulance, those people went through a horrible ordeal and you should be thinking of them, not being selfish and thinking of yourself and what you are going through. I am proud of all of the rescue workers, and all of the hospitals that helped take care of those who were injured. As well as community members who have gone out and given blood or whatever is needed to help. I am very proud to live in such a caring community!

Thanks to EVERYONE who had a part in assisting with such a TRAGEDY. From the 911 callers & dispatchers to ALL THOSE who were dispatched to the scene (Firemen, Police, GCSO, EMT, Red Cross, JP, Funeral Home Personnel, Translators, )from local departments & WAY beyond. When something like this happens, the important thing is to DO what it takes! If it takes translating, then find someone to translate. If it takes calling in other cities, counties to assist, then do it. If it takes giving blood, then let's line up & give blood! If it takes PRAYER (& it does) to give you strength to tackle such a horrific undertaking, then PRAY & know that others are praying with you & for you. Thank God that we CAN still PRAY & receive an answer (regardless of opinions & politics. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you to ALL who were/are willing to put themselves in positions where they'll be called upon in such circumstances. I, for one, realize where we'd be without your heroism, bravery, & humility!

It is about time that city officials consider that the city of Sherman needs more ambulance rather than reducing them, what if at that time one of those ambulance is servicing a house on fire, or on another call,my prayers are with the ems, firemen, despatchers who assisted the victims they are in my prayers

Denisonian in South Texas- The reason Texoma is such a great place is partly because you have left. Thanks for not coming back!

I live just 4 blocks from where the accident happened and if you had been there you wouldn't be saying half the things you are. There is NO way to describe the scene but maybe horrific. No, I didn't go too close just close enough to see what the comotion was all about and then I quickle left and went home to pray for everyone. For the next several hours all I could hear were the helicoptors hovering the scene. I hope the charter company will have to answer for all who were lost in this accident.

Hey, don't worry about some of the negative comments being posted here. Those kind of people come a dime a dozen. Most of us could care less what they say anyway. Wilson and Jones and TMC are excellent facilities, have seen their people in action several times. All the emergency type have a heckuva job to do and they did what had to be done at this crash scene. If you're not wearing their shoes then you probably don't know what your talking about. I am also a combat vet of Vietnam and know a lot about the Vietnamese people. They are very strong and will eventually make it through this. Keep the victims in your prayers and overlook the negative stuff you are reading here. I worked in law enforcement for over 30 years and hardly ever heard a thank-you. All the emergency type know where I am coming from. And another thing, the language barrier is not that big of a deal at an accident scene. I worked hundreds of accidents as a trooper. Most of the injured didn’t say much anyway.

First let me say that my prayers are with all of those who were harmed, affected, or direct responders to this accident. I am suprised to come to this forum and see the ignorance of some by the comments being left. Reading these comments reminds me of why I left TEXOMALAND and never plan on returning. KUDOS to WNJ and TMC for both being Trama certified. Be glad that you even have hospitals that will care for you. Excited to hear that TMC will be moving to a new location with a state of the art facility. Maybe then people will shut up and respect them. To WNJ... great job. GOD BLESS YOU ALL!

I just want to say TAHNK YOU TO EVERYONE who has helped out in this time of such great need and this does include the staff of kxii tv and to those who are still helping and to those that I know who will still be stepping up to the plate. I am a nurse and I know that that this time has not been easy for anyone. I also know that only through God and the help of your co-workers and friends will this be made easier in time though, never forgotten. Please know that my prayers are with you all and with all the families from this horrible accident. May God Bless and keep you all in this time of need. Much love to you all.

My most heartfelt prayers go out to all of the victims and their families in this horrible tragedy. May God be with you all and wrap you in His comfort and love. As a former Texoma resident, now a Houstonian I am not surprised that the community has come together to handle this horrid tragedy. From what I hear, read and see you are all to be commended and you are really heroes. When I first heard the accident happened in Sherman I knew all the resources of the Texoma area would be made available to provide care and comfort. You are the best! No community is without issues, just don't let the negativity that pops up on this discussion board tarnish the wonderful caring response made in the face of this unspeakable tragedy.

Posted by: sherman Location: sherman on Aug 9, 2008 at 09:11 PM
Insider-- there were approximately 14 helicopters on scene.. when a call goes out the helicopters in service and within a reasonable distance will respond. The ambulance/fire services/air ambulances all work together. WNJ does not own the LifeStar helicopter, it is owned by a larger air ambulance company in another state. You apparently are not as big an insider as you think you are. The emergency crews and the hospitals did an amazing job with this tragedy.

Posted by: Fireman on Aug 9, 2008 at 09:08 PM
English, no english. A good paramedic can take care of someone regardless of what language they speak. Im a fireman and I can't imagine dealing with this. This is more tragedy that 100 regular people will ever see in a lifetime. It's like a war zone. Support your emergency people. You may not think they do much, sometimes so. It's not what they do, it's what their willing to do. People are talking and living like their is never going to be a judgement day. I feel so sorry for them. They will get everthing they have coming. Support your fireman, fight for them and show them you have their back because I can promise they have yours.

BTW- the crash victims can speak ENglish as well, and some of them better than you native Texans and Okies. Oh yes, they're also here legally as refugees from Communist repression, so don't even go there. I'm conservative enough to make you look like blue-state Ted Kennedy liberals, but I also have enough common sense to welcome folks into this country when they come in thru the front door like these folks did. So they reverted to speaking their mother tongue when they were injored, epsecially the older ones- so what? Please don't show your ignorance. Better yet, hit your knees and offer prayers for these folks who were hurt, and for the souls of those who died. Oh yes, the tire? That wreck could have taken place on an 8-lane freeway out in the middle of an open field when that tire blew. Sadly, it took place where it did.

“it would have been nice if they would have been able to speak ENGLISH. Then they might have been able to address their needs alot faster.” Those comments from Marla in Oklahoma are completely inappropriate. Our amazing emergency personal – from allover the area, did a tremendous job regardless weather or not those in the accident spoke English on not. I am very proud of our community. Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families and also to the dispatchers, police ems first responders the hospital personal and funeral home directors may god bless you all.

I am so sorry for all the families of those lost or injured. I think all the emergency personnel did a great job. It is sad that some people on here are so selfish that all they can think about is their own racism. These are God's children, he created them with the same love he created us.

I am not a religion pusher but seeing how these people have been so strong in such a time of sorrow to me they give a new meaning to the word true christian . One thing is for certain know where they will spend eternity

My prayers go to the families of the casualties AND to all the civic personnel involved in this tragic accident. Kudos to the Sherman Fire and Police Departments but also to Denison's and to any other towns that sent ambulances equipped with EMT'S and paramedics that were greatly affected by such a horrific experience. All agencies involved did a great job of working together in terrible circumstances. We live in the best part of the greatest country on earth and the men and women that drove up on and helped at the scene and those first responders to the 911 calls, and then to those who donated blood are proof of this fact.

I am proud of Sherman's local responders, hospitals and the community, and we need to keep the families of this tragedy in our prayers. I am proud that so many people wanted to help by donating blood. I was reading through all these comments, and Marla from Oklahoma, please keep in mind that some of these people can speak two or more languages, even if their English is not as well as a native speaker's. You, on the other hand, seem to struggle with just one language. So please, before you show the world what an ignorant hillbilly you are, don't lose focus on the real story, which is the terrifying tragedy, the heroic response of first responders and hospitals, the outpouring of good from the community, with your racist political side comments.

I pray for those victims families, what a tragedy. I pray for the injured to have a quick and speedy recovery. I pray for the ones responsible for this tragedy, may justice be brought. The media reports indicate this wreck could have been prevented. What will it take for people to realize not to take shortcuts on safety. What a way to make world news, may we all be thankful, humble and prayerfull. May nothing like this happen again. My brothers and sisters out there be carefull on our highways. Your life may depend on it. Check your tires. Cloud Walker

Insider. This was a accident and they may have had enough aircraft. WNJ and TMC are compeition. TMC got patients from the bus crash as well. You should be praying for the patients and their family members and not complaining, that you did not get to go see all the action. That make me wander just how well of a medic are you anyay? Trust Me this is that one call that everyone dont wanna have to go on.

Posted by: Anonymous on Aug 9, 2008 at 02:40 PM
I'm a truck driver and I can tell everyone that a recap tire on the steer axle is in direct violation of DOT regulations. Secondly, if this company had been put out of service already by the NTSB, then there are some serious liabilities here. Thirdly, if the med card of the driver was expired, then that also is a direct violation of DOT regulations. I feel for the victims and families and am praying for ALL involved in any way. Rest assured though that Angel Tours and it's owner will face criminal charges before all this is over.

What a tragedy! My thougths & prayers to victims & families. To ALL responders from dispatch to clergy. God bless you all! Sherman police & firefighters..you are THE BEST! Knew that when I lived in Sherman. Rural areas are NOT used to this type of tragedy, but you handled it with the bravery & professionalism I've always known you have. Sick of hearing negativity at any time against you guys. I'm also a former WNJ employee. Again, this is NOT the type of situation a rural community deals with often. You did great! Thank you! To KXII staff: Thank you for ALL your excellent reporting on this! A tragedy in the dead of night, & you were there! Excellent job! THE BEST coverage of this event is right here on KXII! To those posting ridiculous comments..shows your maturity & mentality. In this type of tragedy those comments should be kept to yourself. They have nothing to do with the event, the loss of lives, the hard work of all responders, or the job done by those keeping us informed.

I want the victims to know I am praying and thinking about each one of them and their families at such a horrible time. God be with each one of you and may he give you comfort and peace. To all the rescue workers, police, doctors, and nurses God bless you and the wonderful care and compassion that you have given and yet to give. KXII I love watching your news because I can always feel that you care so much for the people in these incidents.

Posted by: Insider Location: Oklahoma on Aug 9, 2008 at 01:44 PM
Why was EagleMed not dispatched? I'll tell you why, because they are in direct competition with LifeStar based out of WNJ. Too bad the authorities allowed the competition between the two, to dictate good responce time. That needs to be investigated.

Roger, the roads had nothing to do with this accident, it was the bus and the company is going to be in big trouble, again the roads have nothing to do with this accident

For all who lost friends and loved ones, you are in my prayers. I am praying for all who were injured and are fighting to live and for their families. The more we hear about the tour company the more I feel the owner is a cold blooded murderer. I would not put a retread on the front of a subcompact auto that I was going to use to travel several hundred miles much less on the front of a bus. I just cannot shake the impression the owner has a callous disregard for the life and well being of those under his care on his buses.

Please comfort each other and TALK to help get through this. Never forget you ae very Special! GOD BLESS ALL OF YOU AND BE SAFE! To all that was in the Accident and the family members of the ones that lost there lives I pray for a speedy recovery and that you be comforted. You will get through this just one day at a time. You will remain in my prayers. And for those who just want to belittle, take a step back unless you have walked in ANY ones elses shoes you have NO right to judge..

On a different note my thoughts and prayers are with the victims, families and all the civil service personel and hospital staff. Kelly and MJP: wassa matter, run out of meth too soon? Thos of us who are out there helping others instead of P&Ming about highways, hospital ERs, police, and the like have little to no reason to listen to the likes of you. We had a nasty tragedy happen right in out back yard, and everyone from EMS to Sherman PD to Texas DPS to GCSO, Sherman FD, WNJ, TMC, and the employees and dispatchers busted their humps. If all you have to add is the usual whining about bad cops and crowded ERs, may I take this moment to kindly tell you to stuff it. To the rest of you invonved in one way or another in this accident, good on ya. Makes me humbled to be a resident of Sherman and a WNJ employee. Glad to know there are SOME folks with heart & desire here.

Kxii can you please delete Kevin's Comment that is very in approiate. I thought your station was better than to post something like that at a time like this. These people lost loved ones. Their lives will never be the same. How would feel if he (kevin) posted something like this about one of your reporters that has passed away? I have been at WNJ with a relative and I have seen many of the family members of the victums and I must say they are very friendly, pleasent, thankful, grateful people. Thay are not asking for anything from anyone but prayer. They are very positive friendly, thankful people who are just trying to find their loved ones. He (Kevin) has no right to judge. They are human and god loves them too. They will be in my prayers. This in not a time for negative comments from someone like Kevin. Please delete his comment. It is very inapproiate at a time like this.

Well maybe they was not in need of eagle med from Hugo or Ardmors sicne the crash was on hwy 75 straight from dallas,it is obvious they are so close to dallas they dont need to waist time coming from ardmore or Hugo and transport more patients to OKC when they can go with life star or careflight and stay in the dallas area. It is faster for a dallas baised air ambulance get to sherman than to wait for eagle med come from Hugo or ardmore who will probably transport to a oklahoma city hopstital anyway. They need to keep the people as close as possible not scattred all over oklahoma and texas Hospitals. Sherman Police and Fire Department did a Great Job.

I have lived in Sherman most of my whole life. I travel the service road between Lamar St. and Hwy. 1417, BECAUSE that strecth of Hwy. 75 is VERY DANGEROUS !!! The Bridges need to have Wider Shoulders and Better GuardRails. Why does it take a Tragedy like this to wake up our officals? Sherman Needs to keep the 4TH. Ambulance !!! The State needs to make the road safer in that area of Hwy. 75, But at this moment, those involved need your PRAYERS!!!

Posted by: Marilyn Location: Fort Worth on Aug 9, 2008 at 02:22 AM
Our prayers are with the injured, the families and their church family in Houston. Yes, Sherman and Dennison you do need to be proud of the personnel involved in getting the victims to area hospitals and the hospital personnel of all the area hospitals who worked very hard in a very difficult horrific situation. I thank each of you for your dedication.

To all that have had negative comments to say about Texas and our area hospitals obviously do not have any idea what they are talking about!! I believe as a former employee of WNJ they do have great doctors, nurses and support staff. I often hear people bad mouth the ER because they had to wait or were not seen but many people come to the ER with minor problems and hinder the care that the seriously ill need. I believe that WNJ did a great job, I will always go to WNJ for the care that I need!!! We live in a great community and I believe that everyone that responded to the accident did so quickly, if they had'nt then there may be many more casualties than there were. My prayers will be with all that were involved and there families.

I personally went to the ER to try and help and let me tell you people that are putting WNJ down, they did a DANG good job of caring for these people and this horrific accident. I want to see these low life downers do something like we all did last night oh wait you couldn't because im sure you were sleeping while we were helping save lives!!!

When I got the call to come in and help with this disaster, I was shocked at the lack of chaos and confusion. Everyone from nursing staff to janitorial staff stepped up to do anything they possibly could to help. Way to go WNJ for showing that even a rural (as on DFW station put it) Texas hospital can come together and provide EXCELLENT patient care.

PLEASE,let us pull together at this time, all the churches, red cross, blood banks need our help. Instead of complaining, take time to give supplies, blood, your time as many others have already done today. Think if the shoe were on the other foot, how grateful you would be if someone cared to take time to help you and/or friends/family to survive this difficult time. Let us all be grateful that our hospitals and ems, police, fire personnel stepped up to the plate and did very well with this major accident. Other areas in our fine country are not so blessed. Leave all the politics, etc out of this right now. These people need our prayers, help, and support right now. Let us not show them our bad sides right now.

I can't speak for the police and EMS folks but I can do so for WNJ and the ER. I work at WNJ, and we got the majority of the caualties, who were all jn rough shape. Add to that the usual load of ER and inpatient work, and we all earned our pay last night. Those of you who have no other purpose in life but to belittle the local facilities need to keep your toothless mouths shut- we did darn fine.

I heard on Dallas station that the owners of the busing company had 14 violations and no insurance on this bus, and that it was not even supposed to be on the road. A few years ago a truckdriver was convicted of 10 counts of Crmininal Negligent Homicide which also happened on hwy 75 and he is still in prison. The owners of this company need to be punished as well. This is more than negligent if you ask me. May God we with the victims and families that were killed and injured early this morning.

This is a terrible tragedy. This little stretch of highway thru there has been a death trap waiting to happen. It’s ridiculous the local traffic has no other good route thru town; trying to get on the highway in 60 to 70 mile an hour thru traffic is crazy. The little bend in the road before that bridge, is quite a wake up call to an unsuspecting driver. I am sure it took the DPS and Sherman police a while to respond. They are all camped out around the bars about that time waiting to catch someone driving and driving. Cut those guys out of the budget too and fix the highway.

Posted by: Anonymous Location: SHERMAN on Aug 8, 2008 at 04:45 PM
Why are so many taking this opportunity to be critial about the cuts among our city. The real focus should be on those really impacted by this horrible tragedy. Use that negative energy to help those in need. I did not read the lack of ambulance service or care providers/or inadaquate facilities contributed to additional tragedy. Thank you to all who responded and comforted that in need

This is not the time or place to vent frustration. It is obvious that this particular story touched a lot of people's hearts. Don't take away from the compassionate outpouring of prayers and thoughts by lashing out at your city government. God bless the victims, the families, the responders and the angry ems & fire personnel.

Posted by: One of God's people Location: Sherman on Aug 8, 2008 at 03:49 PM
Thanks to all on here mentioning prayers!! We can ALL pray for those involved: the victims, their families/friends, those traveling here to get to loved ones, the emergency and medical personnel (most of who have been working nonstop without complaint since the EARLY morning to make sure all receive treatment), the local clergy & counselors who are offering grief support. Don't wait on all the local churches (or start it yourself) - call St. Patrick's in Denison who will be hosting those involved. The will need volunteers to cook/clean/serve/offer support during these next few days. If you can't work see if you could pick up a case of water, paper goods, etc. and drop it off to help make those involved a little more comfortable. I'm sure either the church or our local Red Cross could give suggestions. Go donate blood on your way home. This is national news, let the nation see what caring folks we have in Texoma...don't use this site to air dirty laundry at a time like this.

Posted by: Anonymous on Aug 8, 2008 at 03:47 PM
I read somewhere that the bus involved was banned from being used because of several mechanical violations including brakes and tires.

This stretch of hwy there at ParK street seems more narrow than it should be and especially the bridge.

Posted by: Anonymous on Aug 8, 2008 at 03:28 PM
The ones on here that want to help these people came from Houston, I am sure their families will take care of them it is not its like out of state people. The ones on here that are talking about the ambulances and not even related to this story, stick with the story or do not comment on here at all, Texas in Denison, yes seatbelts could have saved a lot of these people that is just like our school buses and the kids that right them too, if something had gone across their laps it probably wouldn't had been so bad, but that is the last thing on these families minds right now and we all just need to pray for them, I think that would help out alot right now

Posted by: Anonymous on Aug 8, 2008 at 03:28 PM
I am assuming that the Red Cross is helping with the victims and their families.....? Where is the Red Cross located? And, if I take clothing, etc. to them, can I specify that I want that which I bring to go to those involved in this accident? Prayers and love to all involved. This will take some time to recover. Please, KXII, give us a follow up re: helping those involved.

I showed up on this accident right after it happened and it was something I will never get out of my head. If any good thing can come out of this was the teamwork I saw first hand between all the agencies involved especially Sherman PD and the Sheriff's Office which were all involved first hand pulling people out of the bus. I saw officers from both depts carrying backboards, holding IV bags and consoling survivors. This is why these people are special. Normal people could not perform this well in this kind of hectic environment these guys are special and not enough thanks can be said. There was no battle of the badges every knew there were people's lives at stake. Without this teamwork there is no telling how many deaths there could've been. I saw things I will never forget and my prayers are with the families. As for emergency personell (again especially the front line warriors) you just earned that much more respect from me. Thank you all!!

I have said prayers for all involved. Now, I would like to address this: Even though there is much bickering on the various news stories on this website, there are still some very caring, compassionate people in Texoma. When something like this happens, everyone forgets their petty arguments and seem to come together as a whole to help out. I heard Lisanne say there was a long line at the blood bank and I see people posting here trying to offer help in a time of need. Way to go, Texoma. You make me proud to call this place home.

I GUESS THAT THE CITY OF SHERMAN REALLY NEEDS TO HAVE THE FOURTH AMBULANCE INSERVICE. YES I UNDERSTAND THAT ONE AMBULANCE WOULD NOT HAVE MADE A BIG IMPACT IN TODAYS EVENTS, BUT IT JUST GOES TO SHOW THAT YOU NEVER NO WHEN EVERY FIRE TRUCK AND EVERY AMBULANCE WILL BE NEEDED. I FOR ONE DO NOT WANT TO WAIT FOR A DENISON AMBULANCE TO COME PICK MY FAIMLY UP WHEN THERE IS A STATION FOUR BLOCKS FROM MY HOUSE WITH AN OUT OF SERVICE AMBULANCE SITTING IN IT.

Wake up people. Sherman is taking an ambulance off and out of the budget?? Is this what the public wants? hmmm? Look at denison they operate 3 ambulances for the entire city. Looks like sherman is moving toward denisons way of thinking. While sherman and denison continue to lose men to the metroplex for a little more money.. But sherman and denison just cant pay their people enough. maybe denison could cut an ambulance too then they could use the money to fund the library

Terrible tragedy. I will pray for all involved. I wonder how the city leaders feel about cutting EMS jobs now?

This morning I looked out at Hwy. 1417 to see many officers, road crews, and others from all over Grayson county and possibly other counties. What a great community we live in. God Bless you all for the work you do for all of us. You are not appreciated enough.

I've been watching this story on the news all morning. I'm deeply saddened. Our community needs to help in any way possible as people start arriving to visit their loved ones. I'm so proud of everyone that quickly responded! EVERYONE involved needs our prayers! I'm going to try and donate blood on my lunch hour! They're in need of O !! My 5yr old son just went on a Church bus tour yesterday...gives me the chills!! I pray that God holds these families tight during this awful, awful time!
