ADA, Okla. -- Two of three individuals involved in a fake kidnapping in Pontotoc County over the weekend have now been formally charged.

19-year-old Cassandra Walker and 21-year-old William Kruger are charged with disturbing the public peace and health of the public after they allegedly faked a kidnapping.

Authorities say witnesses reported a child being forced into the trunk of a Ford Mustang in the Ada Wal-Mart parking lot Friday night. Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers chased the car as it was leaving town, but crashed while in pursuit.

The trooper was not seriously hurt, but the car was a total loss.

A third person was also arrested on Friday night. Their name is not being released.

Kruger and Walker are not being held in jail. They are due back in court on November 3.

The whole "correct" story is not being told. At this point the nonsense in the paper and on the news is exactly that...NONSENSE. I think everyone agrees that they are not kids, but they aren't far from it. It's not like you go to bed the night before your 18th birthday a kid and wake up the next morning an adult. They DID do wrong and they know it. They have not in any way stated any differently. They should be punished within reason. Some of the comments are understandable and people have a right to be upset, but enough is enough. They are aware of the severity of the situation. Some of the comments posted are a little on the ridiculous side. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but I think they need to be kept in perspective. Don't believe everything you read in the papers or see on the news. Also, don't underestimate the power of being in the wrong place at the wrong time...or with the wrong company/crowd of people for that matter.

They should be punished... but some of this is a little extreme.

Blog, blog, blog, ….also meaning bla, bla, bla. Innocent until proven guilty in a court law…ah. Three people tried and convicted here in this comment section. Well I believe everyone should have his or her day in court and I think it’s great you all are concerned about what age we stop calling our kids, our kids. I feel a lot of you in this blog might be over 21 so come on grow up and smell the frame up. Let’s start with the Trooper’s car, yes he wrecked getting to the scene. Why you ask…because an inexperience deputy ran him off the road. The Trooper had 2 choices; 1st – hit the deputy, and 2nd go for the ditch. Trooper made the right choice with the fewest injuries. Had this deputy been an experienced driver the Trooper’s unit would be safe in his drive way today. Shame on you all for thinking these 3 individual should pay for this police car. How often do we pass blame for so many of our actions, for example; the dog ate my homework, I agree that’s quiet trite, get the message.

Anonymous at 6:38, That's an idiotic camparison to try to make! It's no where near the same situation and you know it! Why don't you stop trying to defend someone (probably related to you) who did something stupid and read what "Blue Line" wrote on the other segment of this story. Then tell me if you still think it's a fair comparison.

Everytime someone is charged with a crime there is a soft-peddling relative or friend crying "you haven't heard the other side of the story". Well guess what, the police have heard both sides and decided to proceed with the case. This was an irresponsible act and if these people are not held accountable it would set a very bad precedent.

Diana, It's your kind of thinking that has our prisons overflowing these days. If parents would stop trying to be their children's friend and raise them right, there would be a lot less of this kind of stuff goin on! My parents taught me right from wrong and expected my behavior to be a reflection of what I'd been taught. When I did something I shouldn't have, I was held accountable and punished for it and that's exactly what should happen here!Parents, you can be your child's friend when they're grown. Do your kids a favor in the mean time and teach them some discipline. Otherwise, you'll be talking to them through a piece of plexiglass on a jail cell phone...or worse. Anon US at 3:33 pm: They have YET to be punished! They were just arrested for what they've done. The punishment isn't in the arrest itself, it's in the restitution. I'm not saying they're murderers or anything but, they need to know how serious this is and should be taught a lesson. You're not from around here, are you?

Get the whole story before you start crucifying people. There is another side of the story that is NOT being told. And what is being said is based on the interpretation of what a bystandard thought she saw and not what was actually happening. By the way... if a ambulance crashes on it's way to an emergency, is it the dying man's fault the driver was unable to control his vehicle?

This is our business as this is a public article and a public forum for us to discuss our thoughts about the situation, and you need to learn how to spell

anon, US at 3:33, yea I am sure they have been punished, they should pay big time, this is a comment site and if you don't like what is wrote on here don't read it

They have been punished now everyone can drop it and go about thier own bussiness...you people need to nose about your troubles and not everyone elses....

Posted by: disgusted Location: texas on Oct 15, 2008 at 02:56 PM
I agree with "my thoughts". When I was a teenager everyone I knew feared the repercussions from their mom and dad and would not have done something this stupid. When we did something stupid, you can bet we paid for it ourselves, usually manual labor. And I agree, 21 and 19 should not be considered kids anymore, they need to grow up.

Posted by: Anon Location: America on Oct 15, 2008 at 02:08 PM
Diana this must be one of your relatives because you are defending the "kids". They put police officers in danger and all you can say is give them a talking to. I agree with everyone else, they need to be punished.

When a 19 year old is murdered, it will say a 19 year old boy was killed. If they are the ones doing the killing, it will say a 19 year old man murdered someone. Please.

Posted by: my thoughts Location: healdton on Oct 15, 2008 at 10:43 AM
Exactly, when I was this age, no way would I have pulled a stunt like this, not because of law enforcement, but because my Dad would have tore my a** about half off. We definitely thought of the consequences before we did anything wrong!!

Posted by: Lisa Location: Oklahoma on Oct 15, 2008 at 09:51 AM
They not only put the Trooper in jeopardy - but everyone one he had to pass to get help for the person "being kidknapped". These are not kids. Make them pay for everything damaged (car, fence, pole, tree - any and everything) - then punitive damages - then money for the trooper for mental aguish- then jail time. Oh, and what about fleeing the scene? In the report it says the trooper chased the fleeing car.

Posted by: Anonymous on Oct 15, 2008 at 09:03 AM
KIDS?!?! They are 21 and 19 they are not kids!!!!

Posted by: Anonymous on Oct 15, 2008 at 08:41 AM
What they did was stupid someone else could have really needed help and the cops were out chasing these idiots it wasnt but a couple years ago that i was that age and trust me i was no saint but i wasnt that stupid what kinda moron sits around and is like hey lets go act like we kidnap you and see if we cant get everyone upset and worried

you are forgetting that a public safety officer wrecked, and could have been killed or seriously injured as a direct result of this prank. This prank call took time and resources away from the public while the officers responded. Lecture them, but they should be held responsible for their actions. The bottom line is, their actions were illegal. Curious to know if the parties had previous records

I guess I don't remmember those days. When I grew up, people were held accountable for their actions. It's only been in latter years that criminals started being patted on the head and coddled, while their victims were pretty much ignored. We didn't have prisons bursting at the seams when I grew up. Back then people knew if you did the crime, you did the time. Knowing there would be consequences stopped many people from committing a crime in the first place.

Whatif the trooper had been killed in the pursuit? Should we make them take a "time out" in the corner?Talks and forgiveness" ended when they made the phone call and fled the police...Reporting a child being kidnapped is more than stupid...make an example of these fools, and thank God we are not burying a state trooper...

Posted by: Just my opinion on Oct 15, 2008 at 06:57 AM
I am sorry Diana, but 19 and 21 are not exactly "kids", they are adults! They can vote, buy tobacco, get married, join the military and one can buy alcohol. If it were highschoolers I could see the lecture part, but that is not the case. It was irresponsible and could have caused injury or death for law enforcement or even innocent drivers. It could have been horrific. So I think punishing the "kids" is exactly what should be done.

Posted by: Kyle Location: madill on Oct 14, 2008 at 11:09 PM
We don't live in a Mayberry world anymore. Those ADULTS need to be charged, they placed several Officers life in jeopardy just for amusement. People should teach there kids not to prank call 911 anyways.

Posted by: Anonymous on Oct 14, 2008 at 08:54 PM
They need to pay for what they did, now days kids think they can get by with anything

Posted by: Mary Location: Sherman on Oct 14, 2008 at 06:57 PM
2 out of the 3 AREN'T kids!!!! They're adults and should be in trouble for what they did.

Posted by: Diana C Location: Madill on Oct 14, 2008 at 06:34 PM
I remember kids doing things like this, they got a serious lecture, and were usually embarrased, everyone is an example these days. The days of talks and forgiveness are over. It's a turn around and spread em kinda world...
