PONTOTOC COUNTY, OK -- The Oklahoma Highway Patrol has located the body of a missing Ada man inside his pickup truck Monday in Johnston County. Investigators say James "Jim" Leon, 41, died in an accident on Highway 377.

OHP investigators say the body was identified by authorities as James Leon, 41, of Ada, who was reported missing Sunday. Police found Leon and his Ford F-250 truck 9 miles north of Connerville, Oklahoma, off U.S. Highway 377.

Preliminary investigation by OHP reveals that Leon was believed to have fallen asleep at the wheel on Highway 377. OHP says Leon weaved onto both sides of the road before crashing into a concrete embankment.

The family of James Leon watched as authorities pull his Ford F-250 out of an embankment. Inside rescue workers discovered the body of the father of five.

Leon had been at Lake Texoma Friday evening with an acquaintance. The last time he was heard from was Saturday morning at 5 a.m. to say he would be in to work soon.

OHP says the investigation will take at least a week. They do not believe alcohol was a factor in the accident.

James Leon is the owner of Daylight Donuts in Ada.

Leon’s body was taken to Criswell Funeral home in Ada.
