City officials say they are improving the face of Sherman one sign at a time. Over the last two months members of the city council along with public works officials have teamed up to eliminate what they call 'sign pollution'.
Officials say an overload of road signs at various intersections was not only confusing to drivers but looked like a complete mess.
So public work officials got to work, and in two weeks around 83 signs were refaced.
At today's Sherman Preservation meeting public works director Jeff Miller explained the positive effects of the sign clean-up.
City officials say downtown improvements are still in progress, but residents can expect to see more big changes in the next coming year.
