Warning sirens tested today in Sherman

Video will be available shortly.

SHERMAN -- If you heard something out of the ordinary earlier today, the city of Sherman tested their severe weather warning sirens this morning.

On the first Wednesday of every month, the Sherman Fire Department tests out its nineteen sirens positioned all across the city.

Fire chief Jeff Jones says the warning signs are intended for those who are standing outside when severe weather threatens the area.

When people hear it, they should act accordingly.

Each of the sirens costs about $22,000.
