Fannin County Sheriff Kenneth Moore admits that he didn't get much sleep last night, but he is glad that everything ended without any major injuries.
And the man responsible is in jail tonight.
Fannin County deputies ended the stand-off by breaking into the home and firing what Sheriff Moore calls "less than lethal" rounds to stun the gunman.
Ronnie Henkel, 33, was taken into custody early this morning.
Officials say shortly after they arrived at the scene.
Henkel released the two women and two children he was holding inside after speaking to him over the phone.
Officials waited until Henkel put down his weapon and then broke through glass and took down the suspect.
Henkel was taken to the Fannin County Jail, and everyone involved in the ordeal is safe.
"Our main objective is to make sure the suspect did not have a gun in his hand," said Sheriff Moore.
Henkel is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
This is not the first time he has had a run in with the law. He violated his probation last year.
