Perry proposes concealed carry anywhere

Video will be available shortly.

Would you feel safer knowing anyone around you could be carrying a gun at any time?

It’s a developing story from the Texas State Capitol.

Governor Rick Perry says he believes Texans should be allowed to carry their concealed handguns anywhere.

Perry's comments come after he thought about the mass killing at Virginia Tech University two weeks ago.

Under current law, secured airport areas, hospitals, courthouses, bars, churches, and schools are among the places where weapons can be banned even if you have a concealed carry permit.

But now, Perry says he opposes any restrictions.

No word on if lawmakers will address the issue.

According to KXII's web poll, 55 % of people agree with Perry, 45 % disagree.
