SHERMAN – A group of economic developers were honored by the state of Texas for their work this past year.
Workforce Texoma, along with economic development offices in Sherman, Denison, Bonham, and Gainesville, were presented with plaques from the Texas Economic Development Council for their work in the Texoma Regional Consortium.
Along with 10 Oklahoma counties, the consortium involves Cooke, Fannin, and Grayson Counties.
Their goal is to attract more business to the area by working together to market the whole region.
Officials like Bob Rhoden say they appreciate the fact they were honored for their work.
"We're very proud of the award. TEDC has been doing this for awhile, and for us to receive the award really meant a lot."
The Consortium has been up and running for the last two years.
