Denison man drowns in Red River
Updated: 10:34 PM - BRYAN COUNTY, OK -- A man drowned Monday afternoon in Bryan County Authorities say it is the first drowning in the area this fiscal year.
BOSWELL, Okla. -- The search has ended for a man wanted for a brutal robbery out of Rogers County and thought to be in the Durant area.
Authorities say 31-year-old Steven Pierce was taken into custody at 7:30 Thursday morning in Boswell.
Police say Pierce entered the Chelsea Family Drug Pharmacy, in Chelsea Oklahoma, just after close on Monday night, demanded prescription painkillers and cash, and then took out a hammer and beat a 19-year-old employee, Channing Stephenson.
Authorities say she may have suffered a skull fracture but will survive.
Police say Pierce also attacked Chad Jones, the store pharmacist. Jones was not seriously injured.
Steven Pierce remains in custody in Rogers County, Oklahoma.
