SHERMAN – Tuesday marked the first day of Bill Magers’ second term as the mayor of Sherman.

Magers and two new council members were sworn in at City Hall Tuesday afternoon.

The re-elected mayor beat Councilman John Markl by a narrow margin of 287 votes back on May 12th.

Magers says the election was challenging but adds it's time now to start focusing on Sherman’s future.

"It feels great. I'm real excited about this council. It's a seasoned council. Our newest council member was the head of the P.N.Z.'s so he has experience. Expectations are high for this council so I’m looking forward to another year."

Magers says the first item on his agenda is making sure that Sherman’s economic growth continues.

Not a "west-Sherman eletist snob", and also a fan of Lupe's-----let's see you knock the place to the owner's face. Won't happen.......and what's wrong with Lupe's food, anyway? It's good stuff.....

Yes, I'm quite certain that the west-Sherman elitist snobs are all excited by the vision of their community leader wolfin' down tamales and chasin' them with beer in some hole-in-the-wall in a dark alley. Not exactly Taco Cabana :)

How can a man who has his election party at Lupe's with tamales and beer be so bad? Good luck Mr. Mager's. you had my vote.
