DURANT, Okla. -- The city of Durant is getting geared up for this year’s Magnolia Festival. They held a golf tournament on Thursday to raise money for the event.
About 72 golfers gathered at the Silverado Golf Course to play in the event. Organizers say they've been planning the tournament for the last couple of months.
They say they hope the tournament will draw even more people to the festival.
Organizers say there's no better way to raise money than to play a round of 18.
"It’s an enjoying time to get away…you get to socialize. It’s for a good cause and everybody wins," said organizer Drew Yandell.
The magnolia festival runs from May 30th to June 1st.
