BRYAN COUNTY, Okla. -- Authorities are in the process of identifying a man whose body was found in Lake Texoma on Sunday afternoon.

The Bryan County Sheriff's Office received the call just before five yesterday afternoon and now is awaiting the results of an autopsy.

Officials say overall it was a relatively quiet weekend out on Lake Texoma until yesterday's finding.

Now authorities have to identify where the body came from, how it got there, and more importantly, who he is.

The Bryan County Sheriff's Office received the call from a couple of fisherman who noticed the man floating in the water where the rock creek empties into Lake Texoma on the far western end of Smizer Road.

Bryan County Deputy David Bray says the victim is a man in his late 20's or 30's and appears to have been in the water for at least four to five days.

The body was sent to the Oklahoma State Medical Examiners office for an autopsy. Until results are known, authorities are treating the area as a crime scene and will use any means necessary to determine the identity of the man.

"To identify the individual, we look through a variety of means from scars, marks and tattoos to dental records if we need to." said Bryan County Deputy David Bray.

Bray says the State Medical Examiner will conduct the autopsy tomorrow morning, and officials should know more about the man by the afternoon.
