GRAYSON COUNTY, Tex. -- Residents awoke Wednesday morning to again another series of storms and showers. The line of storms has been moving south since early Wdnesday morning, and with the consistent rainfall have come high waters, street flooding, and rising lake levels.
A large amount of rain in a small amount of time caused some flooding in yards and streets in Gunter, Tioga, and Van Alstyne.
Highway 289 north bound through Gunter saw some high water.
It’s estimated that southern Grayson County saw over an inch of rain Wednesday morning.
City officials in Van Alstyne say they had ever seen that much rain in such a short period of time. One intersection in the city was flooded, and several creeks were spilling over, but city officials say they are confident all the water will go down quickly.
Construction sites along Highway 121 west of 75 were also flooded.
