COLBERT, Okla. -- As more people hit the road for summer trips, truck drivers are receiving their annual inspections.
State troopers nationwide are conducting “Roadcheck 2007” at weigh stations across the country, including the station near Colbert on the Oklahoma border.
Troopers say large commercial vehicles are selected at random and are checked for safety features like brakes and seat belt function.
"We’re just out here to ensure the general safety of commercial motor vehicles and to ensure the motoring public is also safe," said Bryan Harris of the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
The inspections run through June 8th.
