SHERMAN -- Grayson County Sheriff's Deputies are interviewing suspects after several arrests across the county. Authorities say these suspects are behind at least three burglary cases that were previously reported to them.
The arrests began after investigators received information about two people they say are responsible for burglaries and identity theft in Gunter.
Their investigation led them to eleven other people who they took into custody along the way.
Sheriff's investigators say Jessie Mancilla and Kimberly Ragsdale were staying at a home on Hazelwood Street in Sherman where they found stolen goods.
Investigators say they received information that the two were responsible for burglaries and identity theft in Gunter.
Deputies found drugs and stolen clothes and jewelry at a home on Carr Street in Sherman on Friday and arrested the two people who had been staying at the home on hazel wood and several other people authorities say were either connected with the burglaries or were in possession of drugs.
These 13 people were arrested over the course of last week for different crimes ranging from possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia to identity thefts and burglaries to outstanding warrants in Sherman and Grayson County.
Authorities want residents to take extra caution because the victims were random targets.
"Just be very careful with your credit cards, be careful who you let around your house, lock your houses up, know your neighbors, get to talking with your neighbors, let them know if there's any suspicious activity, let somebody know." says Sgt. Ricky Wheeler of the Grayson County Sheriff's Office.
Sgt. Wheeler says they did recover two framed photos of professional athletes, and they do not know who owns the artwork.
If you have any information about the crime, contact the Grayson County Sheriff's Office at 903-893-4388.
