Lone Grove considering drug testing students

Video will be available shortly.

LONE GROVE, Okla. --- Lone Grove's school board is considering mandatory drug testing for students involved in extracurricular activities.

Athletic director Kerry Ridley will make a presentation to the board Monday night outlining the proposed plan.

Superintendent Gary Scott says the policy is modeled after Tecumseh High School, one of the first districts in Oklahoma to implement drug testing.

He says they don't suspect students are involved in illegal drugs, but coaches see it as a way to keep them from being tempted.

No decision will be made Monday night. If board members like the idea, they could vote on it later this month.
