Roads flooded in Grayson Co.

GRAYSON COUNTY, Tex. -- Heavy flooding swamped roads all over Grayson County, making them impossible to cross. Crews are working as quickly as possible to re-open those roads as the flood waters recede.

A portion of the Choctaw Creek has flooded and gone over part of the road at the intersection of Highway 11 and 1417, where crews have had this road closed for most of the day, as is the case with many roads in Grayson County.

That intersection saw lots of water Monday, but officials say the flood water has receded there enough to see some significant progress.

As many as twelve roads and intersections were closed in Grayson County but that number has gone down.

The Choctaw Creek has also washed away parts of FM 902, and FM 697. Those roads will be closed indefinitely.

County Judge Drew Bynum says the county is working as quickly as possible to get these roads back open.
