LONE GROVE, Okla. -- Police are releasing few details about Pamela Purser's murder but say they have no suspects.

As neighbors mourn for the family tonight, they also fear for their safety.

Three days after the fact, the news of the horrible chain events has yet to set in.

"Nothing like this happens in Lone Grove," said neighbor Shelby Dunn.

"Like big kick in the gut, can happen where you live," said another neighbor, Reggie Knight.

Since Pamela Purcer's son found her dead in her home on South Meridian on Sunday evening, investigators have been working around the clock to find the killer.

But so far the trail remains cold.

Police have talked with neighbors, but the only witness appears to be the victim's two-year-old grandson who was home at the time of the murder.

Officials are not saying how Purcer was killed. They say they'll have to wait until autopsy results are back to determine cause of death.

But with no sign of forced entry, not an inch of the home disturbed, no suspects, and no motive, the crime remains a mystery, and neighbors live in fear.

"(They) could come back and harm anyone, kids play around here all the time."

"I’ve lived here 14 years never worried, never had an incident. It's different now."

Funeral arrangements are pending with Griffin Funeral Home in Ardmore.

We're told Purcer was a longtime Madill resident and graduated from Madill High School.

The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation is assisting Lone Grove Police with the case.
