Perry asks Bush for federal disaster declaration

Governor Rick Perry has asked President Bush to declare parts of Texoma federal disaster areas.

Federal disaster status means grants and low-interest loans could be provided to those in need of assistance.

The request covers Grayson, Cooke, and Denton Counties in North Texas.

Earlier this week, Perry issued a state disaster proclamation for the area.
