SHERMAN -- Habitat for Humanity and Great Days of Service teamed up to build a local family a home.
On Saturday the two organizations dedicated the house to Alicia Hester and her children.
The new home was built on North Maple Street in Sherman.
Crew members broke ground on the home earlier this year, and both organizations worked together to finish the job.
Bob Montgomery with Habitat for Humanity says, “it’s a great feeling to see somebody living in sub standard housing to be able to move into something, that I’d live in. It’s really a nice home.
Alicia Hester says, “I’m excited. I’m ready to move. I’m happy everything turned out okay, actually happy it’s finished already and I have the keys.
