PRESTON PENINSULA, Tex. -- One family isn't letting the rising lake waters ruin their home. The Park family took Styrofoam normally used to float boat docks and installed the blocks under their double-wide mobile home at Lighthouse Marina.
As the water rises, the house rises along with it. The foam can withstand about 100,000 pounds and the home weighs about 50,000.
"It’s the same principle as a boat dock, if it floats, same foam, this is just a little bit heavier," said the home’s owner, Ricky Park.
The family isn't living in the home right now, but will move back in once the water recedes.
